I was thinking about how we're gonna utilize the drop-down menu once we have more content. Check out this page:
We could have regions in the drop-down menu and then the region page could ahve collapsible state/province names.

I'm kind of confused—this example is on a page, but are you saying the same behavior will take place inside the pulldown menu? Is there not a typical 2-level pulldown menu available?

There is no 2-level dropdown menu available. The way I envisioned it, is we'd have links to the region in the drop down menu. These links would go to a region page which would have these dropdown menus by state. The New England Page would link to something like the example page above.

Check out the New England page for an example of how this would be utilized. The includesyntax is used so state pages can still be created and edited independantly and would refresh on the region page.

I decided after testing that the collapsible test doesn't work well. It wouldn't load the quikmaps pages for some reason. So instead I'm gonna try a foldable container like below. This would be implemented in the sidebar, with all of the geosap links maybe moved to the nav bar? I'm not quite sure on that yet, but here's the test code. The links in real life would link to the state pages, not these test pages.
In the real side bar, the text "foldable example" would be clickable. Upon clicking, the text below would unfold.

Minor suggestion—when I've shown people the page for the first time, they almost always miss the items on the top bar. Not sure why. Maybe we should make whatever is up there more noticeable or put less important stuff there?

I'm seeing formatting issues in Firefox when I expand a state, then expand another without collapsing the first—do you see that?

Love the new navigation on the left side—good work! Canada/West and Canada/East will be needed soon; I have some areas that are nearly ready.

I was thinking that we'd have a Canada Link, and then the province names, just to keep it in track with the regions/states for the US.

Is there a way to make the left pane stay "unfolded" when you go to an area page? It would be a nice alternative to hitting "back" to return, especially when you're doing some of the editing actions (such as uploading a file) that give you an error message when you hit "back."
